| Hi, was wondering about the different paying styles people have. Do you like to group with people? Do you only do solo stuff? Me, personally, I never solo anything. I usually join groups listed in the social tab, when quests are listed that I need and the levels match up. If no one is 4 levels above me, I'll get the same amount of XP as everyone else, and get the quests done faster I figure, but that's just me. Sometimes, if I know the quest well, I'll make the pick up group (PUG) myself and advertise for other players too. My basic logic is, in the time it takes me to solo a quest with a hireling, I can run 2 quests or maybe 3 and get 3 times the XP and loot. So what do you prefer? | |

| Depends. I like to know what's involved in a quest and often the social tab only has groups who are doing elite or favour runs, so everything ends up a blur of trying to keep up and not actually knowing what's going on. So I'm tending to run quests with a hireling on casual/normal to get familiar with it before joining a group that is running the same quest.
Having said that, I've had some fun runs with PUGs.

| I only do groups if im the leader, but even saying that, if someone offers when i just log in i probably won't say no. I love having 5 people i personally invited or even better they found my in the social tab | |

| I tend to either solo with a hireling or do groups of people I know well only. My experiences with groups in the social tab have been...pretty bad. They usually can't stick together or are unorganized or have someone complaining about how bad everyone else is. That's just been my experience, anyway. I would rather run in groups with people from the guild, that's been fun. | |

| I'm about half and half right now, do a lot of quests with tod, some with my guild, some with randoms. But I also do a lot solo, most of the time I like to try them solo first and just repeat with groups, like to figure things out for myself. Sometimes when in a group you end up just running around after people and not actually DOING the quest. | |

| At low levels, I twink my toons out hardcore, which includes buying cure/repair serious pots in stacks of 100 at a time.
I hate hirelings (unless someone else is controlling them).
At higher levels, I'm doing raids, so there's no soloing there.
That's probably why I like farming. Not only does it pay the bills, but I like lone-wolfing it after dealing with 12-person raids and all the associated drama lol.

| That dwarf last night.... *sighs*
you know I love ya Zak... just took a bit to realize who you were
I tended to solo all Auros lower quests because there was like Anto,Jill and Dee in the guild... and all high levels. That and my shyness was pretty bad and I didn't want to join groups. Now I love groups, as long as I know someone in them... still not 100% ok to go out on my own and start a group full of people I don't know...but I did lead a shroud run, so must be getting better lol

| Gotta echo Grace here, I prefer solo and/or small groups of people I actually know (the guild, my sis, my sugar, etc. Wait, they are both in the guild. Nevermind.).
Not sure why, I think it is just my personality. It is kind of how I approach everything. Similar to Beth, I like doing a run first by myself to get the hang of it. I feel like a n00b all the time anyway. Perhaps making runs alone gives me a leg up.
On a side note, I have been super busy with stupid real life that I have not played in quite a while. I am jonesing!

| I was with a group this morning snowyside. Jesus Christ, I could scarcely believe how dumb they were. No consultation, no structure, everything on elite right away, then a mad dash through without waiting for anyone. Noob I may be at DDO, but I've been running parties and DMing almost all my adult life, and the principles are the same. Needless to say, disaster struck. Not to me, though. I bailed. Love NNGO groups. Lot easier to get good XP and items at my lowly level. Soloing is cool too, but there are definitely dungeons where it is just suicide to be without a group. But, yeah. Get in with a group of strangers, and watch their dynamic. Too funny for words. | |

| I know what you mean, Boris, that drives me nuts and it happens in Stormreach too. I still screw up like everyone, even at lvl 9 I'm still very much a noob, but people running in random directions all over the dungeon and then yelling when you can't find them to help them is just nutty. | |

| its the luck of the draw
i had a shitty group the other day, didnt seem bad at first, but then they started to zerg.
needless to say, everyone started dropping dead. one guy was alive, he grabbed all the others stones, and instead of going to a shrine to get people back up, he wanted to be hero and finish the rest of the quest by himself. he died shortly after, and i dropped group. no team, no group!

| I like to run in groups I know, Pugs are to much hit or miss, I find that on normal I can (with me being a level 7) run a level 6 quest with a cleric hireling with DV on normal and sometimes hard. I usually go back and do quest 4 levels below on elite for favor You lose 50% but gain it back on the first time reward,( although there are a few I wont do solo ie Kolbolds, proof in poison). As long as I am not above 6 levels of the quest (which is 99% deduction), I still get the 50% and will get all the other bonuses, but there are a group of us in the guild around the same level give or take that makes it easier to find someone to quest with.
Also by soloing, I can take my time and explore the quest, which makes it easier when you do it on elite.

| I'm getting more used to running with random PUGs. Growing a thicker skin and making sure the leader knows that I'm new to the game so don't know quests like the back of my hand yet and might be lagging behind. Makes me feel a little better when playing catch up. Still tending to go into quests on casual with a hirling to learn them. Especially those quests that I missed doing at level because I was just too nervous to try them for the first time with a random PUG. | |
