Game of Thrones - New TV Series for Fantasy fans!

well, i think they did great with season 1 in keeping with the book, but season 2 just seemed to take too many liberties for my taste.

thing is, book 2 is my least favorite of all of them, or was it book 3? now i cant remember

Eragon was, honestly, something I hated, because it so blatantly was a rip off of a bunch of other books and concepts. The entire thing riled me.

We get the Reeds next season apparently And I really agree with you on them taking too many liberties on season 2 Anto, there seem to be too many things that are important plot points that are missing and now I'm left wondering how they're going to manage a lot. Having Tywin in Harrenhal with Arya worked out a lot better than if they'd done it the book way though, I think. At the moment what I'm thinking of is Reek. That whole storyline in Winterfell has not worked out a way I can see working with the plotline

Problem with movie makers to day is the think income first quality next. Thats why Eragon blew...

I thought they could have spent more time on character development, the politics, etc. instead of the porn scenes.

Yes, there should have been more character development in Daenerys' farewell dream scene to Khal Drogo in the finale - like Khal Drogo buried balls-deep in Daenerys one last time.

Each book pissed me off more than the previous one.

Yet you read it all to the end. There's a lot to be said for that.

I've not seen it yet. I have had a strong urge to reread the book though just to refresh my memory. Though really I'm the most gutted about no Reek tbh :/ That's a huge plot point :/

Also, the entire concept of Eragon blew. Read some McCaffrey instead

Reek wasn't in the 2nd book though (as reek), if I remember right. He's not until the 5th book I think...

What i Love/hate about the book the most tbh is what GRRM does with the characters. Kinda makes you wonder what direction the book is heading in.

was a masterful stroke in terms of plot devices; but from the perspective of characters you fall in love with right out the gate... well i was kinda rooting for that boy! But then, like a friend of mine reminded me hes called GRRM for a reason. Said friend and i have a wager though (especially in light of the last book), How long will it take GRRM to lose readers if he decides to kill of Jon Snow who for some reason everyone seems to love...?

Everyone loves a bastard... isn't that right?

i like jon snow, but the actor who plays him...

idk, just bugs me how he always seems to have his mouth open all the time. like every scene, literally a mouth breather

p.s. i edited eoidains post for spoilers, not sure it makes much a difference since they deviate so much from the book lately.

how many names did they change? robb's wifey, think her name is different. aasha is aya, and osha has been literally playing the part of both jojen and meera....

they also killed that one dude off in danearys guard, wtf was that about? probably some acting contract gone wrong, wasnt too important i guess.

the first season they seemed to stick so close to the book, i was kinda disappointed with the second season, even though the 2nd book was my least favorite, or was it the 3rd? cant remember lol

Far less excited to watch season 2 now. Maybe I'll just quit while I'm ahead- do like I did with the Tudors (stopped watching after Anne Boleyn exited).

Robb's wife's entire storyline is different. Grrr.

I did like them dragging Jaime along behind Robb instead of leaving him at Riverrun though.

Reek is in the second book, just not the same way as later, but that whole plot I just don't like in the TV series :/ I can kind of forgive them not having the Reeds in there given the mad influx of new characters they had anyway, they would just confuse people, but I can't figure out quite how they're going to introduce them. There was something else I really really didn't like but I can't remember exactly what it was >.<

Where the series is concerned i think Tyrion is the greatest success story. I didint particularly like him in the book but he's beginning to grow on me in the series.

That was just the best. Started reading the books now too, so I'll be able to come in topics like these without taking such a big risk.

I've been hearing so much about this! Can't wait, gonna dig into the books first! Pretty sure netflix has the first season of the tv series already up? (skimmed thru the thread here, tried not to read thru ya'lls comments so I didn't get any spoiler's lol).

hahaha! will do pretty excited, been a while since i've gotten into anything decent book wise based with a series along with it!
