| Just started A Knight of the seven kingdoms. It feels like a parody of game of thrones, but written by the author. No it feels like an extension, its set about one hundred years before game of thrones, its nice reading more of game of thrones before the next real book. I also never finished a world of ice and fire, I think its physical size put me off, couldn't exactly read that one on the train.. | |

| Just put it on my book list, might even be able to read that one lol. I've not read any of the game of thrones, I doubt I'd ever have time to read them some are so huge like you said, thanks Aidan! Most of the books I've been getting are the free ones in the kindle store, nothing great enough to mention but it's nice to have a book now and again. Absolutely love going to the library or bookstore still, might make it a point to do that soon to get out of the house lol. | |

| My 2016 will (I plan) include a lot more books and a lot more time in the gym (sickness in 2015 has royally fucked me combined with periodic laziness). This is a big book but after this one I hope to mill a few smaller ones | |

| Here's actually what I'm doing, or plan on doing. Firstly I'll say I've read maybe 10 books in my entire life, maybe less. (All the game of thrones books, which is 6, the hobbit, the hunger games books, and two or three a series of unfortunate events books, if they count) so yeah 10 and soon will finish a knight of the seven kingdoms and a world of ice and fire.
The plan for 2016 is to read 52 books in 52 weeks. It was the idea of a guy on the books subreddit ( http://www.reddit.com/r/books ) to pick a book every week that every reads (like a bookclub) so that you can have a peer motivating vibe and everyone talk about it at the end. Its gonna be a challenge and if I'm honest I'd be delighted to read 12 books in 12 months. Tomorrow I reactivate my library card and I'm gonna give it a proper go. First book is ready ayer one.

| Just finished reading "Ready Player One" by Ernst Cline. It was ok, I guess... well actually now that I think about it more, it kind of sucked.
Anyway 52 books sounds like a hell of a lot. I probably average 20-30 in a year.
EDIT: I just went back and counted up all the books I read last year. Holy shit I read too many books. Here is a complete list in no particular order. Bolded books were my favorites, Italics were a disappointment in some way.
The Dread Wyrm The Stars my Destination All 16 Repaiman Jack Novels The Autumn Republic Warriors of the Storm Girl with the Dragon Tatoo trilogy All 18 Jack Reacher Novels Red Queen's War The Price of Valor Half a War Ancillary Mercy
The Last Policeman trilogy - Fictional Pre-apocalyptic look at the world when it is discovered an asteroid 4 miles wide (planetary extinction level) is going to strike earth in six months. I did literally tear up at the final scene. Also the last book in the series was better than the first, which is a rarity in my experience.
Uprooted Queen of Fire Firefight Ready Player One The Aeronaughts Windlass Shadows of Self The Republic of Thieves I will Bear Witness, A diary of the Nazi years part one and two. First five Malazan of the Fallen books. I gave up on that series, it was too much.
46. Not too shabby I guess. Anyone got some recommendations of stuff I can read this year? | |

| I just finished a book called 'Shadow Moon' which was based on a movie called 'Willow' that was made some time before the 2000's, which I haven't seen. I enjoyed it, and apparently it's only the first in the series, so I am excited to find and read the rest. Until I do, I've finally uncovered a book titled 'The Red Queen', which is the last in the 'Obernewtyn Chronicles' authored by Isobelle Carmody. I've been waiting and searching for this for a few years now. | |
