| I love duck, mmm roast duck with carrots, peas and gravy! Of course I don't have Christmas, but traditional foods for Channukah include things like Latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (a type of fried jam-filled doughnut). Another thing we eat which I love are blintzes (sometimes called blinis too) and they can be eaten with either sweet or savoury toppings, yum! | |

| holiday things.... well baking is BIG for me... my grans whipped shortbread is a must... this year I experimented and made a few dif kinds....I'm pretty impressed with the results. Also, butter tarts, they are a big holiday thing. Oh and the vile fruit cake... what normal kids LIKE that stuff? 4 loaves this year instead of the usual 8-12... I got too busy breakfast: eggnog french toast, family tradition for 18 years running. new addition Kauai coffee with kalua when Dallas is out : 7-11 hot dog after things are cooking for the actual dinner... sweet potato casserole (I can't stand it, but Phillip actually makes sure to buy things needed so he can have it, and I get the whole "'mom, mom..." till I say yea) Turkey of course, this year on the bbq and my favorite part.... stuffing. *drools a lil* always make it from scratch, and just sorta throw things together...but damn is it good. | |

| I can't even remember the last time I had a 'traditional' holiday meal But I'm a huge dessert person, so anything gingerbread! The day gingerbread lattes come out is always the best day of the year | |

| My family is mostly of Polish heritage and I grew up in a very Polish area. So Christmas dinner for us is pierogies (cheese, potato, and sauerkraut) - not the crap you find in your grocery store freezer, the real ones made by little old ladies in church kitchens, kielbasa from the Polish butcher, sauerkraut, pork chops, mashed potatoes, and kapusta (which I hate because it's full of mushrooms but Anto likes it). Plus sour cream and sauteed onions for the pierogies of course It's a meal of fat and starch, and it's delicious! | |
