I bought some whiskey to give to my boss (who is of Irish decent apparently). Plus, i boiled the ever loving shit out of cabbage tonight. I think I am celebrating this holiday wrong.

I love Ireland and Irishness but Paddy`s day has always been nothing but a day of excess, blood, injures, fights etc for what Ive seen over here (Ireland)

However have a great paddy`s day everyone and try to avoid ending up in the hospital hehe

And aidan dont say that too loud if you are in Ardene or any other irish districts or they will eat ya alive

Yes, over here gravy is brown because it is traditionally made by adding flour to roasting juices left at the bottom of a pan.  We certainly do not put milk into it as I believe is put into the "white" gravy?

It's been forever since I've had that type of gravy! (typically over mashed taters) My Gran makes it all the time when she cooks, or used to anyway. Never thought about putting over chips (french fries)? Going to have to try this soon lol! Yeah when I make sausage gravy, after throwing in the flour and browning it a little I'll put milk in which turns it to the 'white' gravy
