So, I've ground out enough favor to be able to afford the half elf race. And ... I fancied something slightly different to the pure fighter build. Not sure, still messing about and reading up on stuff.

Any glaring errors of stuff to change, please say.

Not all that sure what is possible with the helf but went for the cleric dilletante and took all the enhancements in that.

The rogue splash is for sneak attack and evasion (no more heavy armor for you, Zillee!) but again, not a rogue expert so shout out if I've missed the obvious.

Health points should hit around the 650 mark at lvl 20 (including ship buffs, items etc).

Meh, I'll probably chicken out and just do a pure fighter again but focus on getting the tactics super sharp. Still, got a few days to muse it over.

This build will be bumped up from lvl 8 to lvl 16 via stone of xp!

Mmmm yeah ... a 13 wis is needed for the cleric dilly on the helf, but maybe I could start it with 11 and then get the cleric dilly at lvl 9 when the +2 wis tome kicks in. Not really going to be needing the cleric dilly before then, especially if I'm doing the lvl jumping to 16.

Not sure where I'd put the extra two points ... probably intel for some more skill points, or charisma to help the umd a bit more.

Cleric Dillymakes you a level 10 cleric in terms of wands and scrolls so it gives you a basically no fail heal scroll chance at lvl 15 Smile (well 95%) - it's totally awesome sauce if you are just going for a past life in a particular class because it allows you to be pretty self-sufficient! ... oh and of course you can use raise dead scrolls. I've loved it on Jack's last two lives!

The thing with dillies is that you have to choose them at lvl 1 I think... not sure if you can progress to the next level without choosing a feat at all :s

You get 1D6 sneak attack at lvl 1 rogue and 2D6 sneak attack at lvl 3, it could be worth considering taking 3 rogue levels... although I udnerstand that you'll miss out on the 3rd tier of your kensai PrE.

Mmm, yeah, I think I need to decide if I want to sit at 20 for a while or TR straight away again. If its the latter then the 3rd kensai tier is kind moot and a third lvl of rogue could work nicely.

Good point on the timing for taking the dilly - yup, so 13 wis it shall be. As far as I can see, helfs are great for TRs but may be a bit of a compromise on points if you were doing a first lifer unless the classes have some synergy.

I had also considered going pure fighter with a rogue dilly, but I may leave that for the final eventual life when she's all about the tactics (as a fighter should be ^^ )

Oooooooh ... almost bought helf last night but forgot in the haze of messing around with greensteel and other stuff. Glad I didn't as races and classes are on 50% sale next week. That woulda made me unhappy if I'd bought it already. The grind for favor/TPs is getting to be très dull.

Still mulling the build over. Doubting the rogue levels now as I'm pretty sure I won't want to TR again straight after this one - and would rather be pure fighter if I'm sticking at lvl 20 for a while. Will still go helf though for the cleric dilly. Or rogue dilly and buy a shit load of SF pots to see me through the upper lvls.

I'll be meandering around this until the 13th and then likely will make a snap decision. Hahaha rendeer

For my ref, paladin18/rogue2 for Zillee's next few TRs. Just wanting the heal amp so will not be lingering into epic lvls for too long. Might do some barb lifes after this, or a couple monks, before eventually returning to fighter.

i think a better splash to get a paladin past life is 10 monk/10 paladin. get your 10 levels of monk and kick some @$$...but that's just me Smile

for the 18 fighter/2 rogue is the reflex high enough ot make it worthwhile (with 8 or 10 dex or whatever you start with)? i'm thinking about doing something similar going forwards as i have marilith chain (light armor) which i was intending to use on my druid life, but apparently marilith scales are closer to metal than a druid would like.

I didn't go with the 18 ftr/2 rog in the end, so no idea, sorry!

10 monk/10 pally sounds interesting. Got a link to a build? It feels like I'm running thru sludge at the moment on this pally/rog build. Finding it hard to get motivated to play her. The pally boosts are stupid and need constant monitoring and mashing for little benefit. The thought of doing more lives with this build is making my eyes cross, unless it gets better at higher lvls. Still not got to the first million of xp.

not particularly...my idea basically is (assuming you have monk gear - frozen tunic lvl 14, wraps from coin lords chain, etc.) take the 10 monk levels, play it as a monk, add the paladin levels as you go (my idea was dark monk and DOS taking diehard as a shared requirement feat). the DOS gives extra strength and CON (and the monk speed bonuses counter the slow down) so i think it's golden.
