I hear ya - I have some +3s on Dee, but I know what you mean about SF pots.

I LR'd Dee the paladin probably 3 or 4 times to customize him (i.e. fix screwups) - probably will wind up doing the same with dwarf Dee fighter as well lol.

I think Pogue's AC can get up to 90, I can get Gilders up to 78 fully buffed I think... it's hard to do it on a Pally with so few feats, etc.

So far so good - Korthos is saved and I'm kickin' ass and taking names in the harbor.

My impression is kind of meh...

Should probably make a GS dwarven waraxe, but I already have the AGA and a GS greataxe.

Not too bad DR when using the Light and Darkness shield with the axe of famine, but it still has nowhere near Pogue's AC.

After smoothing out some enhancements, Dee's strength will be 46 with around 1,000 HP.

Overall, I'd give the build about a C+ or a B- for a vanilla flavored Dwarf tank.

Still haven't tried it out in epics (what it was purported to be good for) - I'll keep you posted if there's anything stunningly different between elites and epics.

I never understood why there were so few arcanes in our guild. They are very fun to play, is why I have 2 of them!

If you want to go full retard DPS, go sorc. Doesn't matter which savant, they are all friggen sweet. My fire savant's bio is full of copy/pastes of high damage numbers. 3,000+ crits on heat death, 1,000+ crits on fireballs. And the firewall ticks for about 340 minimum.

If you want DC's for disco balls or insta kills, go wizard. If you go archmage, go warforged. If you go pale master, go human. Fuck drow. I can still get some decent crits on my DoTs, but nothing like an ice or electric savant will get. My PM is full specced ice and electric, just to boost DoTs and ice storm.

Casters are pretty gear intensive, so its best to go in with a plan. You can make a viable first life build, but don't expect to get the nice DC's without a past life and really rare shit like a +4 tome. If you can hit a DC of 40, you are doing ok. I run around with 42 on my PM, and can cast devil assault fine, even though I just about always run out of spell points in pt. 1.

One of these days I'll get a torc...

And if you start from level 1- use a greataxe with master's touch until level 7 when you get firewall hehe
