DPS FIghter build - Update 13

so i'm coming up on completing my cleric life (level 18½) on the long road to completionist, i have already completed barbarian and paladin lives. i am doing fighter next as the stacking +1 to hit will help will quasi melee classes like bard, favoured soul, rogue and ranger. in any case, i want ideas. i was thinking doing a 18 fighter/2 barbarian for a few reasons. one, i think the cannith fire axe is good and may as well get axe bonuses...plus i can use carniflex at lower levels with bonuses. two, 18 fighter gets me kensai 3 (admittedly at level 20). three, two levels of barbarian gets me barbarian speed (which is helpful after running a cleric to 20) and +1 con, which combined with a +3 con tome i ate this life gives an even number.

anything better than a mad axe-swinging dwarf fighter/barb?

i looked at the dual khopesh swinging half-orc 12 fighter/6 barb/2 rogue builds on the forums but i tried dual khopesh half-orc paladin and didn't like it

If its a completionist life, then yeah, the 18/2 sounds good =) Never tried a dwarf. Consider a half-orc to really top your strength off? I prefer human for the extra feat and healing amp (easy to fit in the enhancements) but then you'll be spoiled for the fighter feats already.

I'm currently on the fighter life of my completionist project and have decided to go 12 fighter/6 monk/ 2 rogue. Using handwraps of course

Think about it...

one of my guildies recommended 12 fighter/8 monk and said he could take down the training dummy in 11 seconds. i got icy raiments this life so maybe it's still on the table

The fighter levels are ok, but losing out on touch of death and monk attack speed just doesn't sound great with handwraps imo.

Also lose 20% DR + 10dr/epic + 10% stacking incorporeal miss chance that works with raid bosses...

Just sounds like a mana sponge at high levels, no offense...

My 20 monk can take down the training dummy in 11 seconds too with a pretty crappy pair of smiters. He consistently leads kill count in eDA (NOT using tharaak, is pointless to use in eDA!) and in many other non-terror/non-tharaak epics so I don't think his DPS is lacking..

I'm just leveling up my first fighter tho. He's only level 12, so I'll be better able to see once he is 20 what kind of comparison can be made, but so far at level 12 my monk > my fighter. Touch of death just obliterates everything except undead at this level, and bludgeoning against undead = win.

But we'll see.

i'm worried about being an earth monk (your 20%dr)...do you get all the aggro all the time?

mine does, and loves it, but he is built to tank.

the rare times he is not raid tanking, he switches to fire stance for +4 STR, and to drop the hate. bonus with the bracers is 25% heal amp while in fire stance, which is a nice throw in.

It really doesn't matter when it's purely built to get a past life....

Also, if you go helf you can heal yourself and then you don't have to be a mana sponge
