| in 90% of quests you don't need to be able to traps, but when you need to do traps you often wait in the LFM for a rogue (or arty). PUGs often wait quite a while for clerics as well. why not kill two birds with one stone? i took my clonk build, dumped strength, put it on dexterity to get TWF at level 9, but realistically that could be dropped for something else. thoughts? genius? insanity?

| I see the logic behind it, but seriously I think a cleric/rogue is a terrible idea. There is no compensation for the loss of spells/SP that is worth mentioning really. | |

| Skill points and enhancements are tight enough on a cleric, without having to add rogue into the mix. You are already starting with 17 Wis to allow for more int and dex, which is a sacrifice I'd never make personally... Will you have enough skill points to max Disable, Search and Open Lock (2 ranks each time if possible)? In some quests, while you are doing traps for XP, the rest of the party zergs ahead and dies because the healer isn't there. Remember, Pugs aren't always as good as you hope they will be I saw one or two "Clogues" back when I first started playing DDO (about 2 years ago now) but I haven't seen any for over a year. The ones I saw were awful - low SP at low levels, poor trap skills - it could just be that they were terrible players, but I was immediately put off the idea of trying out this build! | |

| i can only get away with 17 wis because i picked up a +3 tome...with 18 i would have ended up with an odd number, so either start with 17 and put all my level ups to it, or start with 18 and use a level up elsewhere...i thought the 3 points was worse it. i wasn't planning on doing the traps for xp, i was hoping (with maxed out skills, exceptional disable device feat, +15 disable from spare hand and +5 tools) to be disabling traps in epic (!) oh well i can always dream i have enough skill points to max disable and search (and concentration), don't need open lock as you can get multiple cracks at it, so will 'max' for rogue levels. | for epic traps you'll need a search and disable of at least 50+
my splash build (ranger) can hit all the epic traps. | |

| Just a run down:
23 ranks + 20 item + 4 INT mod (+6 INT item, +2 INT shrine) = 47
good luck +2 guild slot +4 GH +4 find traps scroll (not sure how much it boosts) action point skill boost +2 - 5
Thieves tools is +7 to disable.

I actually went for full trap skills and got them pretty high as bards, barbs and rogues all get a respectable amount of skill points (in comparison to other classes, such as fighter, which is why I chose 2 barb over 2 fighter in the end). I went human for the extra feat, although in hindsight, I probably didn't have to. Horc is popular as is WF, but I'm sure dwarf will work out fine! | |
