I gave one of my border cities to Adik, being close by if he gets that city going good enough he can expand into Bretagne and maybe even England later.

That's only the past few years!

To give cities to a new player, we have to create a new family line, branched off our own family. So, unless I have a big family I can't afford to branch too much at once, without creating some shitty families you wouldn't want to play or really be able to play.

If your entire family dies off, you lose the game...

If you are already in the game, I can gift you a city tho right next to me so we can team up as well. Once you have the title to the city, you can become my vassal and then expand from there.

There is a big civil war starting in Spain. I had to quit my France fun early and rush back home. My infantry still isn't back yet.

But, there are going to be dozens of cities up for grabs in the coming weeks. My family is big enough, I can do 1 split, and Lance called first dibs on that. I am hoping that anyone already in the game might be able to help by splitting their family as well. We can co-ordinate it all here, and slowly bring in everyone who wants into the game. It can all be coordinated here on the forum, but remember there is a NNGO chat group in the game as well.

What is the benefit to having vassals, instead of ruling everything directly yourself?

It's just alliances, no other real benefit beside that. It's easier to call your allies to help in wars, and you gain a supply line in their land for both parties.

I'm still around and available. I feel like this is all beta too, at least we'll have experienced people when the world opens up . . .

Its actually still in alpha, so a long way to go to beta

added military units: archers, pikemen, knights in plate mail, crossbowman, musketeers
added siege equipment: trebuchets
added a slew of technology, looks like they tweaked the existing tech as well to take longer to research
can upgrade mines for better production
changed something with prestige, no idea on this

probably some more too. some cool shit!

they also added a forum where you can request to join the game i think, believe it still requires a family to split

yeah old techs really take longer now, even those who where researched but not activated need additional research now.. blows.

Yeah I noticed that with my techs, that sucks, but the other updates are pretty cool. They would update just as I am attacking my neighbour wouldn't they? Just my luck!

the biggest player in spain got his armies defeated, and is taking a break. long story short, he gave me all his cities. i now have something like 30 cities, and want to annex more. come join me, and together we can rule the game!

anyone talk to lance?

i created a new family and sent it to lance but if he doesn't join within the next 8-9 hours we're both screwed out of it

Right now, I control 40 cities. I'll be giving a bunch away, because it is impossible for me to upgrade them all.

So Lance, how you like it so far?

I didn't want to start you off hardcore, but if you are feeling ready, can throw you in the mix like with what Adik and me been doing. Is up to you, the game speed is slow with 1 city, with 10, its fast. With 40, it's insane.

I'm digging it . . . not much to do with one city like you said. Collect my windmill income and click my fields twice a year. Need my one research to get completed before I can start creating decent armies. I'm up for getting some more cities, would like to get up to the 5-10 range and see how I do with that .

Ok, when you check in Lance, I sent you a treaty to take one of my vassals. I can't declare war on him until you take him, since we're allies, but is no rush. Still others to take care of.

We basically control all of Portugal and the duchy of Leon. We also have some cities outside that region, but this is our main turf so to speak.

We've got Lance, Bekah, and Adik now all here in north Spain. Work on building the cities I gave you up enough to raise troops and feed them so we can expand you to more cities. Don't worry about big walls- your walls are all my cities that surround you. They would have to come through me to get you.

Remember, when your troops are positioned behind the walls, they don't need to eat. But, once you need to feed them it is very important they don't run out of food. I lost the first army I built this way. If you need help with some loot let me know.

There are multiple directions we can expand from here, but first we are still cleaning house. We've got a lot of allies, some are more reliable than others. In the end though, those that earn more will get more. I don't even want anymore cities for myself, but I can't wait a few days for anyone else to do what needs to be done.

Let me know any ideas you might have. For now, we are focusing on local enemies. We've got a peace with the expansionist French, but that can change at any moment, never know with people.

We've got at least 4 more cities to grab over the next few days. =)

Here is Spain as we know it. We control Leon, Coimbra, and Lisbonne. We have very good allies in Sevilla and Granada.

The French have taken land in Aragon and Castilla, and in between are scattered bits of independent Spanish.

Lance (St Jaques), Bekah (Ponteverda), and Adik (Corogne) are all located in north Leon, near my HQ - Castoverde.
