The key thing is to produce food, because once you have fields and a granary you can hand out food to your people and your population will grow.  It took me a while to figure that out and so I am behind now, but its an alpha, so its all about learning, messing up and finding bugs right?

Seems to me it's like a slow version of Crusader Kings so far.

735/735 They dropped the max down from 750. Must not want new people joining, so its good the we got in before they dropped it.

So how does war work? I declared war on a guy and figured out I had no idea what I was doing...luckily he surrendered to me

you have an army already?  I am still trying to build up my forge to that I can create my training camp.  I knew I had gotten off to a slow start lol!

Well it says I have 108 mobilized soldiers...but I'm guessing I don't have an army. But hey, who needs armies to win wars? Not me

I have 109 that can be mobilised, but I have no army and no idea how to mobilise them which puts you ahead of me

Finally got in! Like trying to coax a virgin on prom night...

Anyway, time to figure out wtf to do. Which is interesting on pain meds.

First thing I did was pledge fealty to the biggest player in the area, hopefully that protects me for a bit

The game could be a lot of fun, but there are some severe imbalance issues. I haven't even tried combat, just getting to that point is quite the chore; but some things are fairly telling.

First off, selling tokens in an alpha is a huge no for me.
Secondly, there is no tutorial, guide, hints, nothing- not even new player protection.
Finally, it looks like they made it hugely profitable to cheat. Make 20 clones, all become your vassals.

This game has a lot of potential. But you know what, I've said the same thing about RK, and if they treat both games the same... Well, I'm not getting excited over it.

There is a lot I have not been able to figure out, like making simple alliances. If a bunch of us are joined there and cannot help each other, it takes away from the game a lot. It seems the only way to become allies is to become vassals of each other, which honestly, sounds fucking dumb.
I've yet to raise an army, but probably will soon if I'm not obliterated within the next 24 hours or so.

That's the crux of it, the game is very imbalanced. Even starting 1 day later than everyone else puts you at sever handicap. Pay to win just adds to it.

Might steal some idea for the game I am working on (by working on I mean so far entirely in my head)

I think the way to make allies without becoming vassals is to marry your head of household's children to the other person's head of household's children. Haven't tried it yet though since my character is only 8 at the moment.

That's a huge help, I'm almost to the point of being able to form armies, building an armory and already have forge and training camp. Only problem is we got into this game so late most of the small fries around me have been taken out already...

Next time, bunch of us should start near each other if possible.
