| I have to say, I also don't think it's fair to lump Anto with Marzy. :/ I think my current RK char has always been in opposition to NNGO, but the worst thing Anto has ever done to me is ignore me. I took a break from this char for about six months to go play in Scotland and believe me, on that account I got treated far worse by people who had less reason for it. Yes, Anto likes to play with the game interface and test how things work. That's not against the rules, nor do I see it as being a problem really. Sure, it will sometimes reveal problems in the coding, but the problems were already there and someone was going to discover them sooner or later.
At any rate, I think I'm done with this discussion again, because it seems we're getting back all the same responses I always get when I try to talk to the current censors-- a lot of reasons why things can't or won't be done. Expressing a willingness to work with the player community to try to improve the censor system is dandy, but it seems like the willingness stops with the words. When it comes to action, there's just no will on the part of the censors to make any changes. (Not that individual censors don't or won't try, but as a group, collectively, it ain't happening.) And that is ultimately why I'm more and more inclined to agree with Anto. :/ I do encourage the current censors I know to continue in their work, but mostly because I know damn well that they could be replaced by another Anteater. I don't have anything new to say on this and I don't particularly feel like repeating myself any more this month, so I'm off to play DDO and occasionally raise hell in the RK forums when I think the censors have gone too far.

| Speaking of mods....just constant personal attacks are unnecessary in this thread, and most of us don't want to read them, so if you want to do that shit, take it to the flames forum please. I'll split anything else of that nature over there if I see it again. | |

| I leave most everything and am pretty damn hands off, which is why I'm not even bothering to move the other posts unless it's still an issue. I think we're all big boys and girls and can take it from there. And frankly, that's how the RK forums should be handled. (See how I segued right back to topic there? Nice, huh?) | |

done with the topic as well I guess - Swallow is interested in the info on reviewing forum mods, so I have sent it to her
there are areas that the forum admins and forum mods are willing to listento feedback on - and they have said that they will respond to requests for info on forum 2
just for the record Anto ... none of those you name are anywhere within the forum mod or game admin ranks
happy censor roasting!!!!!

| So much I could say, but really why bother? One thing that I will say, the amount of active censors is nowhere near what anyone thinks it is and it never has been. From what I see, just like in any cross-section of any structure, there are differences. People will also skew things to put themselves in a favourable light. No-one likes to be thought badly of after all. When I was Sable Antelope, I did my best to help and never once received any training. In fact, I was left alone looking after Chester with no-one else and no head censor in sight either. I am sure that I must have made mistakes then and annoyed people. I am not perfect, I have off days, I have grouchy days and I have 'fuck-the-hell-off' days too. Sometimes it is easy to forget that the person at the keyboard doing these things, has problems of their own too. The thing that gets me, is nobody is willing to admit they made a mistake. Why is that so hard to do? If I have moved something, lost something, locked something I shouldn't, etc. then I am the first one to say 'oops, my bad'. Admitting a fault is a step towards fixing it. I admit that I come from a country where certain words are really not acceptable to be used and yet they are allowed on RK. IRL, I can swear like a truck-driver or worse, but initially, I found it hard to know which words are 'good' or 'bad'. Is 'fuck off' fine but 'fancy a fuck' not? Who decides? As far as the 'us and them' with the censors is concerned - that comes from both sides. People attack and defences come up - this is a natural reaction. I have already suggested the creation of an RK forum just for players and censors to talk about things as they see it from each other's perspective - the rights and wrongs of both sides. I think that this forum is a perfect example of how no rules doesn't mean total anarchy. How many people play RK? Well that is how many opinions you will get on this subject. I no longer RP in RK and I am just waiting for the next NNGO action. If that doesn't happen, then maybe I will just fade away - what does it matter anymore? I go elsewhere to write stories and somewhere else again for fun. Between Celcius and the boring blablabla all over RK forums - I lost interest a long time ago. Over a year ago , I cared so much about RK and the people I thought were my friends, I slit my wrists. I am wiser now So much for not saying anything lol! | |

Well I'm glad to know someone finally got some use out of that Did you notice how many "Yeah, looks good" posts there were right after I wrote it.. and then nothing? No additions, no helpful criticism... Peeved me a bit.

| Split Edwin's last post to flames with an explanation. Have it out there if you like Also a reminder - 2 rules here (posted in announcements), no porn and no intolerance. I didn't see what pic Corinna posted before the hosting site took it down but no porn OK? No need for it here. Flame away, call each other names, don't care about the drama. But no flat-out intolerance either. | |

| How to improve the moderating: 1. Get rid off biased idiots, starting with the hero of this thread, Wombat. 2. Get rid off masks, being no longer able to hide behind one, mods will become more civil imo. 3. Let the county to choose someone as the censor from their own. That people from other countries are modding, isnt anything good either, especially given the conflicts between countries: will be a mod, who's from lets say Chester, less biased in Glasgow, where is a big dislike for english in general ? I'm not even talking about info gathering, thats later being used for their personal goals. When Glasgow was fighting Galloway/Ayr, we did suspect there was a leak from cc, however the cc was 100% Fury, people that I do know for years. We spent rest of the term doing stuff in Fury forum and there werent any problems about the leaks anymore | |

| I'm not so sure about that. I think it's asking too much for a person that lives in the country mod without a mask. In part, I think that's because it would be hard for people in general to separate the mod from the character. Too much drama.
I actually don't have an issue really with the skins, because I don't think they're the problem. Those that are good censors are still good censors in the skins, and those that aren't I don't necessarily see stopping because they have the weight of the censor council and the admins behind them. I think the issue really is more training and less interference, period.
Lest this devolve again into a "all censors suck!" discussion, there are some really good censors, and I wish they led the training and that training and approval by them was compulsory. Right now, Russian_blue got moved to our county, and he is a fandamntastic censor. Props, especially after a long stint with pretty overbearing censors over and over again.

Was done before actually. Before the masks were introduced. I'm aware of that, and it was an issue not just because of bad censoring but because people can't separate. I mean, we have a boatload of players that can't even distinguish between character actions across RK/NK/SK if they are from the same player. It is really hard for too many people in RK to comprehend that the player and the character is not the same. I can just imagine the posts - "Oh sure, you tell me this post is bad, but you sure were terrible when you revolted the capital!" or some such idiocy. I do think it's better all around for the censors to be seen as outside the realm of gameplay a bit.

| Yeah, I was sad to see Beaver go. I think Beaver was very communicative in mails and a bit more humane than the other censors. Even if I got a point from Beaver, I was somewhat more willing to accept it.
I forget which censor it was in Scotland, but there was this censor that had a bit of an attitude and at one point posted a picture of a child being chastised and told us that they'd have to put us in the corner. I think it was Clownfish or something. One of the fishes.
I didn't like Anteater in Scotland and she was just as bad in England. Too quick to lock threads. Too quick to edit or split posts. Too quick to sit in a thread that's not heated, so we know she's sitting there. I think TPB Anteater needs to get a life.
And yeah, these posts here do make me wonder. I know of at least 2 Ayrish that are censors. I hope that the Ayrish have their duties transferred to England. I don't want them watching over me, over Galloway, or over Glasgow. I would not be surprised if when we were battling in Carlisle, there were a few Scots and Irish in England that were a bit biased.
Anyway, Russian_blue is pretty good. Russian_blue was a censor in Scotland before Ireland. Then there's that other one, I think his name was Meerkat or some animal that looks like one.
